Friends of Chamber Music
The Friends of Chamber music event was an event to showcase an Italian saxophone group that was visiting College Station. It was a free event, so if anyone in the community wanted to hear them play they had the ability to come. At the end of the concert, there was time to have drinks, dessert, and mingle with each other. This was a good event to do something different but still have fun with the people in your community.
Multiple duties were required of me and my classmates when volunteering at the event. At the beginning of the event, we helped pass out brochures for the concert and directed visitors on where to go for the concert. We also helped make the drinks, place the refreshments and hand out dessert at the end of the concert. By doing these different activities, it gives you a good sense of customer service and how to help guests with different things. Quality customer service is very important in the event industry, and I think this was a good way to stick your foot in the door for types of service you might have to provide.
