St. Thomas ELC Gala

The main purpose of this event was to raise money for St. Thomas Early Learning Center. Another goal of the event was to have a fun night for the parents of students that attend the school and for alumni. The event consisted of appetizers for the guests and music to enjoy. The event had an in-person option and a virtual option. COVID-19 was in full swing during the time of this event, so we wanted to give everyone an option to allow them to feel more comfortable. If you decided to do the virtual option there was a live zoom call so that they could still listen to the music and your food was delivered to you.

This event was created by my teammates and me for our 321 RPTS class. We all worked on every single part of the event together but I focused on decorations, invitations/RSVP, and other marketing items. This event was definitely the most beneficial event for learning opportunities. I learned how to start and finish a whole event and actually put on the event. I got to learn how to adapt quickly to the pandemic changing the original event plans. I also got to learn how to budget correctly and plan well for emergencies/problems that could occur during the event. Lastly, I learned how to work in a team and how to share ideas, even if you don’t agree.
